Free Heart Drugs Somewhat Improved Outcomes, Medication Adherence
Heart attack patients who got free medications were less likely to be rehospitalized for heart attack or heart failure and more likely to adhere to medication plans than those who had co-pays, according to late-breaking research presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2011.
