Ebola remains among Americans' top 3 healthcare concerns

A recent Gallup poll finds Americans are still largely concerned with Ebola, with 17 percent of participants saying it is the most urgent health problem currently facing the country.

At 17 percent, Ebola ranks the third-most perceived pressing healthcare issue, following affordable healthcare/costs (19 percent) and access to healthcare (18 percent).

The only other two issues to be ranked in double digit percentages this year were obesity and cancer, both of which received 10 percent of the mentions.

Finding cures for diseases followed obesity and cancer at 3 percent. Diabetes, heart disease and government interference each garnered 2 percent of the concern. Lastly, drug/alcohol abuse, flu, mental illness and AIDS were each cited by 1 percent of the surveyed population.
