The Connecticut Partnership for Patient Safety has formally launched a Connecticut public-private partnership and has created its board.
The board members represent experience from a wide variety of healthcare organizations.
Started informally five years ago as a group of concerned healthcare executives, CPPS has since grown to 19 individuals representing healthcare providers, consumers, insurers and quality improvement organizations. It was initially sponsored by the Connecticut State Medical Society, but is now transitioning to a nonprofit corporation.
