CMS Extends Hospitals' Deadlines for Quality Data Report, Review

Hospitals submitting first-quarter data for the inpatient quality reporting program now have until Aug. 23 instead of Aug. 15 to submit data, according to an AHA News Now report.

CMS extended the deadline for reporting clinical data and healthcare-associated infection data due to "data submission challenges" with the hospital reporting and National Healthcare Safety Network systems, according to the report.

Hospitals also have two days extra to review and correct the fiscal year 2014 Percentage Payment Summary Report for the Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program. CMS extended the deadline from Aug. 24 to Aug. 25 because the hospital reporting system will undergo scheduled weekend maintenance, according to the report.
