Bon Secours St. Francis bans Pokemon Go from campus, citing patient safety concerns

Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C., has banned "Pokemon Go" from its facility and is currently working with the creators to disable the game both inside its buildings and on campus, according to The Post and Courier.

The ban has been instituted due to patient safety concerns, and was spurred by employees, patients, visitors and individuals reportedly wandering onto the hospital's campus specifically to play the game.

"Players should be requested to discontinue the game and, if they have no legitimate business at the location, to leave the premises. If necessary, security staff may be requested to intervene," reads an email statement sent from the hospital to employees and relayed by the Post and Courier.

Recently, hospitals have struggled to deal with gamers crowding their campuses and treating people who got injured while playing the game. Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston put out a statement to employees reminding them not to play the game while at work.

Concerns have also been raised about the game's impact on cybersecurity for businesses as many questions remain about the app's security.
