Edgewood, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Lexington, Ky.-based WellCare, a Medicaid and Medicare managed care insurer, entered into a value-based care contract to improve health outcomes of Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries.
WellCare will work with St. Elizabeth staff to provide quality based improvements and recommendations based on the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set. The insurer will also help the health system navigate the new performance and quality guidelines set by CMS.
