Republican gubernatorial candidate Frank Edelblut said Medicaid expansion locks individuals in poverty and deters healthy adults from seeking work, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported.
New Hampshire expanded Medicaid two years ago through the New Hampshire Health Protection Program. The state's Gov. Maggie Hassan said almost 50,000 residents have health insurance because of the expansion.
Mr. Edelblut, however, said New Hampshire should implement a more traditional form of Medicaid that helps the very poor and sick, he told the New Hampshire Union Leader.
