Nebraska Medicare beneficiaries see $15M in savings for 2016

Nebraska's governor and director of insurance said the state's Senior Health Insurance Information Program saved Medicare beneficiaries more than $15 million over the past year.

Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) said he encourages seniors purchasing health and prescription drug insurance through Medicare to participate in SHIP, and his administration focuses on making SHIP accessible to older and disabled Nebraskans.

"Drug coverage changes every year. People with Medicare should examine their 2016 choices to be sure they have the most affordable plan," Director of Insurance Bruce Ramge said in prepared statement.
