Virginia legislators were told at the state's Health Insurance Reform Commission meeting that individual health plans sold through Virginia's Affordable Care Act marketplace will rise up to 20 percent next year, WVTF reports.
State Sen. Frank Wagner (R) said the increase is "unsustainable" when paired with an average household income increase of about 1 percent.
Virginia Bureau of Insurance representative David Shea said the marketplace is only three years old and is still undergoing market adjustments, according to the report.
