Indianapolis-based Anthem plans to withdraw 16 of 19 pricing regions of California's ACA exchange, leaving about 60,000 Covered California customers with one insurer choice for 2018, according to a California Healthline report.
Blue Shield of California will be the only choice for Covered California enrollees in six counties, as well as for Covered California enrollees in parts of seven other counties.
Anthem's policy change in total will affect about 153,000 individuals, California Healthline reports.
Anthem attributed its decision to various factors, such as instability in the individual ACA marketplace, the report states.
