Health Net goes out of network with Dignity in Arizona, Aetna names CEO of Banner JV & more — 7 payer highlights

The following payers made headlines this week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Anthem CEO: AHCA may end up more 'repair' than 'repeal and replace'
As the Senate reviews the Congressional Budget Office's score of the American Health Care Act, Joseph Swedish, CEO of Indianapolis-based Anthem, said he expects the Senate bill to look like "a repair more than a repeal and replace."  

2. BCBS of Kansas City exits ACA exchanges, may leave 25 counties without marketplace insurer
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Mo.) will not sell individual ACA health plans in the payer's 32-county service area in Missouri and Kansas for 2018.

3. Dignity Health goes out of network with Health Net in Arizona
San Francisco-based Dignity Health's Arizona hospitals are no longer in Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Health Net's network following unresolved disputes about reimbursement rates.  

4. Huntsville Hospital expands provider network with UnitedHealthcare
Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital Health System extended its relationship with UnitedHealthcare, a subsidiary of Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group, to include Medicare Advantage policyholders.  

5. BCBS to members: Coverage should be 'available to everyone, regardless of pre-existing conditions'
Chicago-based Blue Cross Blue Shield Association penned a message to members outlining its wishes for the GOP's health reform proposal.

6. Georgia's only statewide ACA insurer signals 2018 exchange presence
Atlanta-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia filed preliminary plans to offer ACA individual health plans in all of Georgia's 159 counties for 2018.

7. Banner Health, Aetna name CEO of joint venture
Phoenix-based Banner Health and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna selected Thomas Grote to helm a jointly-owned health plan the organizations unveiled last October.
