CareSource sees 2017 ACA exchange enrollment increase 20%

Dayton, Ohio-based CareSource saw enrollment in its ACA exchange plans increase by roughly 20 percent year-over-year across the four states in which it sells exchange-based insurance, according to a Dayton Daily News report.

In Kentucky, CareSource's enrollment in ACA health plans for 2017 coverage more than doubled to 32,033 individuals. The insurer saw enrollment in Indiana, CareSource's second-largest market for on-exchange health plans, rise roughly 24 percent, according to the report.

The number of individuals enrolling in exchange-based plans more than tripled in CareSource's newest market of West Virginia, rising from about 1,500 individuals to nearly 6,400 individuals.

The insurer did see enrollment dip about 2 percent in Ohio. This was representative of an about 2 percent decrease statewide in enrollment for exchange–based health plans, Dayton Daily News reports.
