Health insurance giant Anthem has launched its first CareMore clinic in Cincinnati, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.
CareMore is a senior-focused innovative model of care for the Medicare population.
Here are five things to know about the clinic and Anthem's plans.
1. The clinic, the Eastgate Care Center, will serve as a local hub of the CareMore model in Cincinnati and will be available solely to Anthem Medicare Advantage members who live in Hamilton and Clermont counties of Southwest Ohio, according to Anthem.
2. The clinic is geared toward older adults who are at risk of or have developed conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or lung disease, according to the report.
3. The clinic features technology to help manage and prevent complications for older adults with life-challenging, chronic diseases.
4. The Eastgate Care Center began seeing patients April 15.
5. Anthem plans to open a second center in Cincinnati in June, according to the report.
