Anthem confirms participation on Connecticut's 2018 ACA exchange

Indianapolis-based Anthem told officials with Connecticut's health insurance exchange Access Health CT it plans to offer polices on the exchange next year, according to a Hartford Courant report.

Jim Wadleigh, CEO of Access Health CT, notified board members Thursday about Anthem's and Farmington, Conn.-based ConnectiCare's intention to sell health plans on the 2018 exchange, according to the report.

The news follows Louisville, Ky.-based Humana's recent decision to not sell plans on any ACA exchanges in 2018. Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna, Indianapolis-based Anthem and Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna have also signaled changes to their ACA exchange footprints for 2018, in light of potential changes to federal regulations and market instability.
