80% of Americans pessimistic about health insurance costs, no matter who becomes president

The majority of Americans lack confidence their healthcare insurance costs will decrease regardless of who becomes president later this year, according to a recent survey by Agile Health Insurance.

Agile conducted the nationwide online survey between April 7 and April 9, 2016. Results are based on 1,269 individual responses.

The survey found nearly 80 percent of respondents said they do not believe the next U.S. president will be successful in lowering health insurance costs for most Americans.

Consumer pessimism about health insurance costs could stem in part from the continued rise in insurance premiums over the past three years, say researchers from Agile.
