7 recent payer-provider disputes, resolutions

Here are seven contract impasses and agreements that took place between payers and providers since May 1.

1. Carrollton, Mo.-based Carroll County Memorial Hospital and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky extended their network agreement to include the insurer's health maintenance organization and preferred provider organization plans.

2. Memphis, Tenn.-based Saint Francis Healthcare and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana inked a provider network agreement after going out of network with each other in October. 

3. San Francisco-based Dignity Health's Arizona hospitals are no longer in Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Health Net's network following unresolved disputes about reimbursement rates.

4. Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital Health System extended its relationship with UnitedHealthcare, a subsidiary of Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group, to include Medicare Advantage policyholders.

5. Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health is out of network with UnitedHealthcare following the parties' inability to reach a contract resolution before a May 14 deadline.

6. Tucson, Ariz.-based Northwest Healthcare reached a network agreement with UnitedHealthcare.

7. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana reached a multiyear agreement to reinstate in-network access to all Tenet providers, according to Tenet's first quarter financial results.
