7 payer-provider disputes, resolutions in April

Here are seven contract impasses and agreements that took place between payers and providers in April so far.

1. Baptist Memorial replaces Methodist Le Bonheur in BCBS of Tennessee network
Memphis, Tenn.-based Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. will replace Memphis-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as an in-network hospital in BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee's Network S.  

2. UnitedHealthcare, Premier still lack contract agreement ahead of deadline
Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health and Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare have yet to ink a provider agreement as of April 21. 

3. Hartford HealthCare, UnitedHealthcare sign 2-year contract ahead of deadline
Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare and Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare signed a two-year provider network agreement.  

4. RWJBarnabas, Aetna resolve contract dispute
West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna signed an agreement to continue in-network care for Aetna members at RWJBarnabas hospitals and physician facilities.  

5. Indian River Medical Center, Aetna at impasse over contract
Vero Beach, Fla.-based Indian River Medical Center and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna may end their contract if negotiations between the parties fail.

6. CHI St. Vincent, UnitedHealthcare ink contract
Little Rock, Ark.-based CHI St. Vincent, part of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, settled a contract dispute with Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare.

7. Independence Blue Cross, University of Pennsylvania Health System ink 5-year contract
Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross and Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Health System contracted to share responsibility for quality and cost of care.
