Partial collapse of Memorial Hospital's parking garage injures 3 construction workers

A partial collapse of Charleston, W.Va.-based CAMC Memorial Hospital's parking garage injured three construction workers and stopped patients who parked in the garage from leaving Wednesday morning, according to WSAZ.

Three construction workers were injured after the concrete they were pouring caused a partial floor collapse. No hospital employees or patients were harmed, as the area was blocked off for structural repairs.

Employees working in the offices in the garage were temporarily evacuated to a different hospital building. A CAMC employee told WSAZ patients who parked in the affected garage were told to find another way home.

Structural engineers evaluated the damage and determined employees and patients can return to their vehicles and offices.
