Washington Hospital in California Begins Construction on Joint Replacement Center
Washington Hospital in Fremont, Calif., is moving forward with the construction of $44 million, three-story Center for Joint Replacement, according to a report by the Oakland Tribune.Construction on the center began earlier this year and is expected to be complete by 2012. The center will feature 40 patient beds and indoor and outdoor rehabilitation centers, according to the report.
After the new center is complete, its current home, the Whitaker Pavilion, will be demolished and a new emergency department and critical care unit is planned. This second phase of expansion is expected to be complete by 2016, according to the report.
