UPMC Grows Operating Income $130M in Six Months
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center experienced $130 million in growth in its operating income for the six-month period ended Dec. 31, according to a report by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Operating revenue increased by $216 million to $4.062 billion for the same time period, and the operating margin grew from 3 percent to 3.2 percent, according to the report.
The increases were driven by growth in insurance, outpatient and physician services as well as investment portfolio growth of $228 million, according to the report.
