UNC Hospitals Files Request for 36 Acute-Care Beds
The University of North Carolina Hospitals, based in Chapel Hill, N.C., has filed a request with the state for 36 additional acute-care beds as part of a $28.3 million expansion and renovation plan, according to a report from WRAL News.
The plans also call for shifting 18 beds for other uses as well as renovating 40,000 square feet of support space. No other details were included in the report.
A public hearing on UNC's certificate of need for the extra beds will be held on June 17, according to the report.
