Sutter Amador Hospital in California Opens New ED Wing

Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, Calif., is opening a new emergency department wing, according to a TSPN report.

The new wing includes five total critical care treatment rooms, a central help area, a waiting room and a triage area. The wing is part of a larger ED expansion that will bring the total number of rooms to 14 for critical care treatment and three for full triage, and the total space to more than 9,000 square feet. The full expansion is expected to be completed late this year or early next year.

The hospital's ED has treated more than 18,000 patients since 2011, an increase of more than 12 percent from its 2007 volume, according to the report.
