Survey: PPACA Support Rises to 39%

The percentage of Americans who support the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has risen in recent months, although a majority of those polled continue to oppose the healthcare reform law, according to a CNN/ORC International survey.

Of 801 Americans polled from March 7 to 9, 39 percent said they support the PPACA, up from 35 percent in December. Fifty-seven percent said they oppose the law, down five percentage points from December.

Among those who make $50,000 or more, the percentage who say they support the law went from 36 percent in December to 46 percent this month. Meanwhile, the portion of those earning less than $50,000 annually who support the law held steady at 35 percent, according to the poll.

Furthermore, not all of the PPACA's critics are conservatives. While 39 percent of those who oppose the law say they don't approve because it's too liberal, 12 percent are against it because they think it's not liberal enough.
