Stanford (Calif.) Hospitals & Clinics has announced it has received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence.
The designation is bestowed upon only 7 percent of hospitals and recognizes quality of nursing leadership, patient outcomes, coordination and collaboration across specialties, and processes for measuring and improving the quality and delivery of care.
"Being recognized as a Magnet hospital is a testament to the outstanding nursing staff we have here at Stanford Hospital & Clinics," said Amir Dan Rubin, president & CEO of Stanford Hospitals & Clinics. The heath system first received Magnet status in 2007; organizations must reapply every four years.
