RightCare co-founder named Edge Runner by American Academy of Nursing

Kathryn Bowles, PhD, RN, the co-founder of RightCare, a medical technology company, has been designated as an Edge Runner, a recognition from the American Academy of Nursing.

The Edge Runner award is given to nurses who bring new thinking and methods to different healthcare challenges. Edge Runners "have developed care models and interventions that demonstrate significant, sustained clinical and financial outcomes," according to the American Academy of Nursing website.

Dr. Bowles was recognized for her risk-assessment tool, Discharge Decision Support System. It is an evidence-based screening tool focused on factors that influence self-care ability of patients once they are discharged.

"We are extraordinarily proud of Dr. Bowles and this honorable designation that she has received for her contributions to the field of healthcare," said Eric Heil, RightCare co-founder and president and CEO. "She has always been committed to improving outcomes for patients, and has worked diligently to develop new, innovative and revolutionary ways to enhance our product and help optimize post-acute care transitions for patients and health systems."
