President Obama Signs Bill to Fund New Colorado VA Hospital

A new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital planned for Aurora, Colo. will receive $800 million in funding from a bill signed by President Barack Obama, according to a report in the Denver Business Journal.

The hospital, which will replace a 59-year-old outdated facility, is scheduled to open in 2013.

The bill, S. 1963, expands upon $568.4 million that Congress had previously authorized for the hospital to cover the total estimated cost of $800 million. Of that amount, $42 million still remains to be included in future budgets, according to the report.
