Poll: Botched Rollout Hasn't Changed Overall Opinions of PPACA

Despite the technical issues with the federal exchange, 38 percent of Americans view the reform law favorably, a new poll has fond.

Despite the highly publicized technical problems that have plagued the exchanges, the American public's overall views of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act have stayed relatively steady, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll.

The October poll found 38 percent of respondents have a somewhat or very favorable view of the law and 44 percent have a somewhat or very unfavorable view, compared with 39 percent and 43 percent respectively in September.

Furthermore, only 22 percent of respondents said they had paid close attention to news about the technical problems the federal exchange site has encountered. Still, 48 percent said the federal government is doing a poor job implementing the reform law. Meanwhile, 66 percent of people following the news about the HealthCare.gov problems closely think the government is doing a poor job.

Additionally, 60 percent say they opposed the idea of cutting off funding to stop the law's implementation, and 47 percent want Congress to keep the PPACA intact or even expand it.
