Orlando Health Systems Object to University of Central Florida's Plans for a Teaching Hospital
The University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., is proceeding with plans to build a teaching hospital for its medical school despite objections from two Orlando healthcare organizations: Florida Hospital and Orlando Health, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.Officials from the concerned healthcare organizations believe the over-saturation of providers in the Orlando area could drive up healthcare costs, according to the report.
The proposed teaching hospital, not part of the original UCF partnership with Orlando Health and Florida Hospital, would serve nearly 500 students.
