Missouri's Freeman Health Adding Nearly 60 Rooms to Meet Demand After Joplin Tornado
Freeman Health System, based in Joplin, Mo., is adding 58 rooms to its patient tower in order to meet heightened demand, according to a Joplin Globe report.The $10 million construction project was in response to an increased demand for services following the Joplin tornado disaster earlier this year. The additional rooms are a mix of private beds, medical-surgical beds and surgical ICU beds. The hospital plans to invest another $4-$5 million for equipment.
