Mayo Clinic in Phoenix Planning Expansion
The Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., is seeking permission from the city to construct a 250-foot tall hospital building and four outpatient clinics in Northeast Phoenix, according to The Arizona Republic. The Mayo Clinic is currently is restricted to constructing the facility at no more than 140 feet in height but says that the additional height would "facilitate patient and technological needs better than spreading out [services in different facilities]," according to the report. The Clinic says that services need to be expanded to meet the needs of the aging community.
A decision is expected to be made by the city council in December.
