Maine Hospital CEO Retires
Doug Jones, president CEO of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth, Maine, has retired to move on to leadership positions at other hospitals, according to a report in the Bangor Daily News.Mr. Jones will serve as interim CEO of Down East Community Hospital in Machais, Maine, after Brewer, Maine-based Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems was appointed as the emergency receiver of the struggling hospital, according to the report. Mr. Jones was planning on leaving MCMH prior to the position at DECH opened.
The MCMH board of trustees says it will take the time to find the right replacement for Mr. Jones, but an interim president and CEO is expected to be named soon, according to the report.
