Health Management Associates Transfers CEO to Larger Hospital in Florida

Health Management Associates has named José Morillo, CEO of 88-bed Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Lehigh Acres, Fla., as CEO of its 208-bed Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla., according to a report by the Fort Myers News-Press.
Chris Rakunas, COO of Lehigh Regional for the past two years, has been named interim CEO of the hospital.
Health Management Associates operates 54 hospitals in 15 states with approximately 8,000 licensed beds.
