Head of North Carolina's Moses Cone Leaves to be COO of WakeMed System
Tom Gettinger is leaving his post as president of Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. to become COO of WakeMed, an 870-bed health system in Raleigh, according to a report by the Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area.
Mr. Gettinger, 46, joined 535-bed Moses Cone in 1992 as vice president of patient care management and then served as vice president of Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center and vice president and administrator of the Women’s Hospital of Greensboro.
At WakeMed, he replaces Deborah G. Friberg, who left in January to become executive vice president of Columbia St. Mary's, a four-hospital system in Milwaukee.
