HCA North Texas Plans Two Facility Expansions Totaling $180M

Irving, Texas-based Hospital Corporation of America North Texas is planning a $114 million expansion of its Medical City Dallas campus and a $66 million expansion of its Medical Center of Plano (Texas), according to a D Magazine report.

This announcement comes soon after HCA North Texas announced its plans to break ground this year on a new $71 million hospital within Denton and Tarrant Counties in Texas.

The Medical City Dallas expansion project will feature 100 new beds and 18 new private stem cell patient rooms. It will include the renovation of 37 private oncology rooms and of the emergency department. The project will also add four stories to the hospital's 'E' tower, which will allow for 36 new intensive care unit beds and 46 medical/surgical beds.

The two-story expansion of the Medical Center of Plano will add 56,000 square feet to the facility, according to a D Healthcare Daily report. It will also include the addition of 68 beds.

Construction is expected to begin in the coming year for both projects. Construction of the Medical Center of Plano expansion will begin in May, according to the report.
