Consultant Alvarez & Marsal to Evaluate Santa Clara Valley Medical Center

Santa Clara County has chosen New York-based consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal to make financial recommendations for 574-bed Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, in San Jose, Calif., according to a report in the San Jose Business Journal.
The consultants were hired in the wake of the abrupt departures of the CEO of the county health system and the director of the hospital last month.
The initial contract will be for one year. The turnaround firm will address finances and operations, and is expected to install a transition team to oversee the hospital, Santa Clara County Executive Jeffrey Smith, MD, told the Business Journal.
