The Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford reached a milestone this month as it celebrated its 20,000th patient.
Victor Mudrick, a 68 year old, received a new knee Thursday. He had previously been a patient at the CJRI, as he underwent a right hip replacement two years ago at the "hospital within a hospital."
CJRI opened in July 2007. It is certified as an ISO 9001:2008, Quality Management Systems compliant organization — the only joint replacement facility in the state to hold that designation, and one of only 80 providers nationwide.
