Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital Opens Special Delivery Unit

Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital announced the opening of a special delivery unit to treat both maternal and fetal critical conditions that complicate pregnancies.

The unit will provide diagnostic services and treatment to women with life-threatening conditions such as lung cancer, heart failure and brain tumors, and those with health issues developed during pregnancy that threaten the health of the baby.

The unit is part of Cleveland Clinic's Fetal Care Center and includes a delivery room, an operating room, an adjoining pediatric cardiac catheterization lab and access to a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

The unit is a collaboration between Cleveland Clinic's Children's Hospital and the OB/GYN & Women's Health Institute and offers care from a multidisciplinary team of subspecialists.
