California Healthcare District Names New CFO

Marin Healthcare District, based in Greenbrae, Calif., has named David Cox as its new CFO, according to a report by the Contra Costa Times.

Mr. Cox has signed a one-year contract and will help oversee Marin's takeover of Marin General Hospital from Sutter Health. Mr. Cox previously worked as a consultant for the district.

Mr. Cox has held several executive positions in the hospital industry during his career. While with Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont, he became aware of a conspiracy by hospital administrators to misrepresent costs of an expansion project to state regulatory agencies. Mr. Cox cooperated with investigators and helped to make the prosecutors' case, according to the report.
