3 Major Systems Drop out of Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association
Three major health systems have dropped out of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, according to an AzHHA news release. The systems are Abrazo Health Care, based in Peoria; Banner Health, based in Phoenix; and Dignity Health, formerly known as Catholic Healthcare West, based in San Francisco. Though based out-of-state, Dignity operates three hospitals in Arizona.
The AzHHA expressed disappointment in the organizations' departure in the release. "This is an incredibly challenging time for Arizona hospitals and we are hopeful this decision is temporary," AzHHA President and CEO Laurie Liles said in the release. "AzHHA will continue our mission of advocacy for patients, hospitals and communities throughout Arizona."
Reasons for the systems' departure from the association were not disclosed in the news release.
