Dr. Walter O. Moss Regional Medical Center in Lake Charles, La., will close its pediatric and psychiatric clinics March 1 due to a $2.3 million budget cut, according to a KPLC report.

The closing of the pediatric sickle cell clinic, a unique service in the region, may force its 32 patients to seek treatment far from home, according to the report.
