Here are the top 10 states which had the highest number of registered nurses per 100,000 people in 2008, with number of nurses per 100,000 people, according to The Kaiser Family Foundation.
1. District of Columbia — 1,561
2. South Dakota — 1,245
3. Massachusetts — 1,226
4. Rhode Island —1,081
5. Minnesota — 1,068
6. Maine — 1,067
7. Nebraska — 1,061
8. Delaware — 1,038
9. Pennsylvania — 1,037
10. Missouri — 1,017
