Physician imposter pleads no contest to practicing medicine without a license

Alberto Gonzalez of Bakersfield, Calif., was sentenced to two years in prison followed by two years of probation after pleading no contest to charges of practicing medicine without a license, BakersfieldNow.com reported.

Mr. Gonzales was accused of posing as a physician and charging patients for phony procedures. The latest charges against him were not the only time he was accused of impersonating a physician. In 2012, Mr. Gonzalez was sentenced to two years for operating a fake clinic out of his home. One victim said she paid him $400 for injections that were just water.

Three misdemeanors were tossed out as part of Mr. Gonzalez's deal, according to the report. His sentence will become official during an August hearing.
