Patient charged with aggravated assault after breaking nurse's nose

A patient has been charged with aggravated assault after breaking the nose of a nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, N.J.

The patient, 28-year-old Mauri Price, was going through the admission process at the hospital June 24 when she stood up from her wheelchair and hit the nurse in the nose with two open palms, according to MyCentralJersey, which cited court documents.

The impact of the blow caused the 62-year-old nurse to fall and hit her head on a wall. Ms. Pierce tried to run away after hitting the nurse, but hospital security guards caught her, according to the report.

According to court documents, the nurse's nose was broken in the incident.
