Bangor Women's HealthCare Owner to Pay $300k to Settle Overbilling Complaint

The gynecologist who owns the practice Bangor (Maine) Women's HealthCare has agreed to pay nearly $300,000 to settle a federal billing complaint, according to a Bangor Daily News report.

Robert A. Grover, DO, also owns the Maine Center for Continence and Pelvic Disorders and the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute, both in Bangor. He has agreed to pay $296,492 to settle complaints of improper Medicare and MaineCare billing.

Dr. Grover self-disclosed problems with his businesses' billing to Medicare and MaineCare in the summer of 2009. The problems included overbilling in excess of allowable amounts for various gynecological services and billing for services that were never performed, according to the report.
