Union Hospital to eliminate 150 jobs

Union Hospital, with locations in Terre Haute and Clinton, Ind., will eliminate 150 jobs from its workforce by the end of the year, according to a My Wabash Valley report.

The system's revenue has been greatly affected by the sequester and cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, according to the report. Additionally, Union Hospital has experienced a roughly 10 percent drop in overnight patient stays. The system cited these changes as causes for the workforce reduction, according to the report.

Mostly support staff will be affected by the changes, and direct patient care should not be impacted, according to the report.
