Sunshine Act review, dispute period begins

The review and dispute period for physicians and teaching hospitals on data submitted for CMS' Sunshine Act went into effect Monday.

The review and dispute process allows the aforementioned entities to review and submit any corrections regarding data reported about them by applicable manufacturers and group purchasing organizations. Only physicians and teaching hospitals registered with CMS are able to participate in the review and dispute process.

The review and dispute period will end on Aug. 27, 2014. Applicable manufacturers and GPOs can continue to submit dispute corrections until Sept. 11, 2014.
