St. Louis-based SSM Health Care is abbreviating its name to SSM Health.
The Catholic, 19-hospital system said the name change "better reflects its commitment to managing health and wellness, not just treating illness."
Mid-Missouri residents can expect to see the changes first, as the new brand will be introduced this fall.
