North Shore-LIJ's health plan adds MinuteClinic to network

The health plan created by Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System has added MinuteClinic's 900-plus sites of care to its network.

The relationship between MinuteClinic and North Shore-LIJ Care Connect Insurance Company is effective immediately.

"By adding a national provider of walk-in medical care to our network, we're ensuring that business travelers, vacationers and college students have easy access to high-quality, affordable health care services when they're outside our core coverage area, which currently includes New York City, Long Island and Westchester County," said Alan Murray, president and CEO of CareConnect.

North Shore-LIJ founded Care Connect in 2013, making it the first provider-owned health plan in New York.

MinuteClinic, a division of CVS Health, currently includes more than 900 locations across 29 states. Its goal is to establish 1,500 walk-in clinics nationwide.
