The Department of Health and Human Sciences at Louisiana University seeks to fill a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2015.
Duties: Teaching undergraduate Health Systems Management courses including Health Informatics, Data Management in Health Care, and Systems Analysis in Health Care and serving as Program Coordinator of the Health Systems Management degree. In addition, faculty responsibilities include coordination of the virtual laboratory, academic advising; providing service to the university; and participating in scholarly activity in areas of expertise.
Qualifications: A doctoral degree by hire date from an accredited institution in one of the following areas is required by the start of the faculty appointment:
1) A doctoral degree in Management Information Systems, Applied Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Epidemiology or a related information technology discipline from an accredited institution, and industry or academic experience in healthcare informatics research.
2) A doctoral degree in Health Care Informatics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or a related health discipline from an accredited institution, and industry or academic experience in healthcare informatics research.
3) Medical doctorate, from an accredited institution, with industry or academic experience in healthcare informatics research. Credentials from the American Health Information Management Association (RHIA and/or RHIT). Current experience in the health information technology field and teaching experience. Must be committed to working with diversity.
