Baxter International to add 90 jobs in NC

Baxter International, a hospital and renal product manufacturer, is adding jobs in North Carolina, according to the state's Democratic governor, Roy Cooper.

Gov. Cooper said Deerfield, Ill.-based Baxter plans to add 90 jobs at its manufacturing facility in Marion, N.C., and invest more then $7.4 million there. He said average salaries for the new jobs at Baxter's Marion facility will be $45,556.

A $1 million performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Baxter's plans, Gov. Cooper added.

"We are grateful for the support of county and state officials," Jon Rushford, Baxter's vice president of operations, North Cove, said in a release. "Together we are investing and creating economic opportunity in our community that will support Baxter's commitment to making lifesaving and life-sustaining healthcare products."
